How to apply a skin and whether it fits under your case
A skin is a thin printed vinyl cut to your exact device. Putting one on is a five-minute job if you do three things in order: clean, align, smooth. Here is the order, the fixes for the two things that go wrong, and the straight answer to the case question.

The five-minute install
Work at room temperature on a clean table, with the device off.
- Clean: wipe the back with a microfiber cloth and a little isopropyl alcohol; let it dry. Wash your hands. Dust and finger oil cause most bubbles.
- Check: hold the skin over the device without peeling it. Find the camera cutout and the port cutout so you know which way is up.
- Align: peel a third of the backing off at the camera end, line the cutout up with the camera, and press just that end down.
- Smooth: peel the rest of the backing away while you smooth the vinyl from the center outward with a soft cloth, in one pass. Don't press the whole sheet down at once.
- Finish: run a cloth-wrapped card from the center to each edge, then warm the edges with a hair dryer on low for a few seconds and press them again once cool.
The two things that go wrong
Crooked: lift it within the first few minutes and lay it again. The adhesive stays forgiving at first and firms up over the next day, so don't wait. Bubbles: pinhead bubbles disappear on their own within a day or two as the adhesive settles; a larger one means the sheet went down in more than one pass, so lift the nearest edge, let the air out and lay it back down.
Does a skin fit under a case?
Yes, with one habit: skin first, then wait an hour, then the case. The skin is about 0.2 mm thick, so a case that fit before fits after. A clear case shows the design through; an opaque case hides it, so pair a skin with a clear or an open-frame case, or skip the case for the look and keep it for travel.
MagSafe, wireless charging and tap-to-pay all work through a skin. Vinyl does not block magnets or radio, and the skin is cut around the camera, the flash and the ports.

Questions people ask
- Can I put a case on over a skin?
- Yes. Apply the skin, wait about an hour, then fit the case. The skin adds roughly 0.2 mm, so a case that fit before fits after. A clear case shows the design; an opaque one covers it.
- Does a skin interfere with MagSafe or wireless charging?
- No. Vinyl does not block magnets or the charging coil, so MagSafe, wireless charging and tap-to-pay work as before.
- Will the skin leave residue or damage the phone?
- No. It peels off clean whenever you want a new look, and the glass or aluminum underneath is unchanged.
- How long does a skin last?
- Years of normal use. The vinyl resists scuffs and fading; most people change it because they want a new design, not because it wore out.
- What if I ordered the wrong model?
- Tell us and we reprint it free for the right model. The skin is cut to the exact device, so the model matters more than anything else on the order.
